Create an incident from a template

You can expedite the creation of an incident using pre-configured incident types in FH Mobile Response as templates. You can also create your own templates for frequently occurring types of incidents.

Information on creating incident templates is available in Create an incident template.

Note: You must have purchased FH Mobile Response Premium to create an incident from a template in FH Mobile Response. For information on upgrading from FH Mobile Response Basic to Premium, contact your FH sales representative.

  1. Do one of the following.

    • Choose Go → New → New Incident From Template.
    • On the Incident ribbon, click New Incident From Template.

A dialog box listing default templates, and any incident templates you may have created, appears.

  2. Click the icon for the template you want to use.

The icons in the dialog box update to display more icons for gathering information for the template.

    Example:

If you click Rail Cars, the icons in the dialog update so you can choose which kind of rail car is involved in the incident, and indicate if the hazardous material is known.

Tip: If you select the wrong icon or change your mind, in the lower left corner of the dialog box, click Back to go back one set of icons in the dialog box.

Note: Observe which icons in the dialog box have a small blue arrow on the right side of the icon. The arrow indicates that if you click that icon, more icons will appear.

If no small blue arrow appears, you have reached the end of the template and FH Mobile Response will create a new incident with the information you have provided for the template.

  3. Click the icon you want for the incident you are creating.

Depending on whether the icon has a small blue arrow on the right side, either another screen of icons appears, or the New Incident From Template dialog box appears.

  4. (If additional icons appears) Click the icon you want for the incident you are creating.

Note: You will use the icons that appeared to continue defining the incident you are creating. The New Incident From Template dialog box eventually appears, indicating the end of the incident definition process in the template.

  5. In addition to the address tab, an Incident tab with the number you specified in the New Incident From Template dialog box appears.

  6. Click the Incident tab.

The sub-tabs of the incident appear, with the Summary sub-tab selected.

  7. Use the sub-tabs to specify information pertinent to the incident.
