Workstation Options Remote Data

  1. Access the Tools menu, Workstation Options option.

  2. Click the Remote section.

    Note: Only accessible for FH Enterprise.

  3. Press Remote Access to specify the path to the remote data configuration files.

    This path is generally set during installation and should not be altered.

  4. Select a default startup database.

    If the workstation will always connect to the remote data, select Use remote database. If the workstation will always point to the local database, select Use local database. Allow the user to select local or remote at login by selecting User can select.

  5. Check Enable Incremental Fetching for Query Results to limit the number of records accessed for queries.

    When a limit is exceeded, you can access more records from the browse query by right mouse clicking and selecting the Fetch Maximum of X Number to temporarily adjust the number of records displayed.

  6. Check Re-Initialize the remote access folder prior to every login to create a fresh local database each time the client is launched (adds to the length of login, disabled by default).
  7. Check Automatically download updates from server to automatically update the workstation with program and licensing updates applied at the server.
  8. Press Connection... to access the Remote Configuration form.
