Copy your database

Note: If you are updating your existing database, skip this topic and go back to Archive your database. The steps below are preparation for replacing the current database with a blank new database.

  1. In an explorer window, navigate to your FH installation directory.
  2. Copy the following folders: 
    • Your data folder (for example, DATA)
    • System
    • (Optional) REPORTS
    • (Optional) QUERIES
  3. Navigate to a different location and paste the folders.
  4. (Optional) Rename the copied folders to prevent confusion in the future.
  5. Continue with Install a new database.

To create a copy of the SQL database for FH Enterprise, you will need to detach the database, make a copy of it, and then reattach the database. The steps for this process are beyond the scope of the FIREHOUSE Software Ontario 2009 SIR Installation Guide.
