Restore Database

Information on FH Enterprise backup/restore is available in Remote Backup/Restore 

  1. From the Toolsmenu, select Backup/Restore.

    The Backup/Restore form is displayed.

  2. Select the Restore tab.
  3. Type or lookup the path to the file containing the most recent data backup in Restore from backup file.

    The naming convention for files is FHYYMMDD.FH5 where YY is the last two digits of the year, MM is the month in digits, and DD is the day in digits.

  4. Check Replace existing files to replace files in the specified path when duplicates exist.

    If unchecked, duplicates files are skipped.

    Action: displays information about the restore process.

    Note: In some instances, you will wish modify the data restore. In this case, do the following.

    1. Press Advanced.

      The Advanced Restore Options form is displayed.

    2. Restore files to their original directory on drive defaults to C:.

      Change only if data needs to be restored to a different drive.

    3. Check Restore only selected files if you wish to only restore files you specify.

      1. Press Selected Files and select the directories or specific files to restore.
      2. Press Save.

        Note: Don't select Restore files to the following location unless you have a specific reason for doing so, such as restoring selected files.

        By default, all files in the backup will be placed in the specified path.

      3. Check Restore files to the following location and specify the directory to restore the backup file(s) to.

        Caution: If you have not selected specific files (above) and you select this option, all files included in the backup are restored to the specified path.

      4. Press OK to add the modifications to your restore.
  5. Press OK to restore the backup.
