Copy the CadConfig.xml file to other mobile computers

To share the the list of available customized statuses and settings with other FH Mobile Response mobile computers, all the mobile computers must use identical CadConfig.xml files. If your department is working with a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system, the mobile computers must use a CadConfig.xml that matches the one used by the CAD system.

Note: If the files do not match, the mobile computers do not have the same definitions for the statuses, and will display an error when they receive a status update.

  1. Have one member of the fire department personnel or a FH Mobile Response technical support person define the codes, colors, and meanings of your fire department's statuses in FH Mobile Response.

Information on defining status properties is available in Add, edit, and delete statuses.

The status properties that are defined are recorded in the CadConfig.xml file.

Note: If a FH Mobile Response technical support person defines the status properties for you, they will email the CadConfig.xml file to you.

  2. (If a FH Mobile Response technical support person defines the status properties) Open the email you received with the attached CadConfig.xml file and save it to C:\Program Files\FH Mobile Response\Program\Config\, replacing the file that existed at that location.
  3. (If you are not there already) Navigate to C:\Program Files\FH Mobile Response\Program\Config\ and copy the CadConfig.xml file at that location.
  4. On each of the remaining FH Mobile Response mobile computers, navigate to C:\Program Files\FH Mobile Response\Program\Config\ and paste the copied file, replacing the existing file with the newer one.

Now all the FH Mobile Response mobile computers have identical CadConfig.xml files.
