Data center whitepaper

The ESO Solutions data center is a world-class data center that is designed with state-of-the-art hardware, networking and software. The facility is built and operated in accordance with the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 20000 standard. It has the capacity and capability to seamlessly assume a client’s IT operations, including network services, voice, data support, and direct-access storage device (DASD) backup.

The data center represents sole operations support for clients on z/OS, OS/390, VM, UNIX, NT and various other architectures. The facilities are protected by sophisticated control systems.

The data center is a single-tenant facility with 630,000 square feet, of which 90,743 square feet is datacenter raised-floor space, per the facility and engineering department. The facility is ISO/IEC 20000-certified.

The facility monitors both distributed and mainframe environments, ensuring that online systems, applications, and database subsystems are available, and that the data center and systems hardware are problem-free for batch processing. The facility supports more than 20,000 MIPS, and provides managed services, including 24x7 system and network monitoring, server and network engineering services, service desk services, performance reporting, audits, and other services.

The data center’s processing is based on multiple computing architectures that include, but are not limited to, DASD tiered storage, tape drives, and Automated Tape Library (ATL). It delivers capacity management for Windows, UNIX/Linux, mainframe and attached storage.
