5.3.16 Release Notes

When you are importing a lot of incidents with the generic XML and generic Oracle interfaces, the size of the log file can grow very quickly. To keep the file size to a minimum, for those interfaces, you can now choose to record only error messages in the log file.

To find the new feature in the user interface, do the following.

1. At the bottom of the FIREHOUSE Software CAD Monitor dialog box, click Options.

   The FIREHOUSE Software CAD Monitor Options dialog box appears.

2. Click the System2 tab.

   The Log minimal events option appears near the top of the dialog box.

   

   Additional information on mapping this field to the a field in the FH database is available in the FIREHOUSE Software CAD Monitor Installation and Update Guide, in Specify system settings.

If you configure FH CAD Monitor to pull personnel assignments for a unit from the FH Schedule module, FH CAD Monitor can now automatically calculate the hours worked and hours paid for staff members assigned to a specific unit.

To find the new feature in the user interface, do the following.

1. At the bottom of the FIREHOUSE Software CAD Monitor dialog box, click Options.

   The FIREHOUSE Software CAD Monitor Options dialog box appears.

2. Click the System1 tab.

3. In bottom right corner of the dialog box, under Query Personnel, select From FH Schedule.

   

4. Click Save.

   When you log into FH and open a staff member's record, the calculated values appear in the Hrs Worked and Hrs Paid column.

   

If you are importing generic XML data into FH CAD Monitor, the Dispatcher_Notes field in the CAD vendor's data file can now be mapped to a data field in the FH database, and you can use this field to pull dispatcher notes into your FH incident narrative.

To find the new feature in the user interface, do the following.

1. At the bottom of the FIREHOUSE Software CAD Monitor dialog box, click Options.

   The FIREHOUSE Software CAD Monitor Options dialog box appears.

2. Click the Filters & Data tab, and then click Field Mapping.

   The Field Mapping dialog box appears.

3. In the upper left corner of the dialog box, from Show Field Mappings for Table, verify that Master Incident Report is selected.
4. Scroll down to the bottom of the list of field mapping.

5. In the Maps to CAD Data Element column, for the Narrative field, click the lookup button .

   The Select Data Element dialog box appears. The new Dispatcher_Notes CAD data element appears at the bottom of the list.

   

   Information on mapping this field to a field in the FH database is available in the FIREHOUSE Software CAD Monitor Installation and Update Guide, in Map CAD system fields to FIREHOUSE Software database fields.

The Tritech SQL Interface version of FH CAD Monitor now has an option to specify the number of minutes before the end of the previous poll interval, during which FH CAD Monitor re-checks the CAD vendor for new data.

To find the new feature in the user interface, do the following.

1. At the bottom of the FIREHOUSE Software CAD Monitor dialog box, click Options.

   The FIREHOUSE Software CAD Monitor Options dialog box appears.

2. Click the System1 tab.

   The Poll Overlap Time section appears in the center of the dialog box.

You can now configure FH CAD Monitor to process CAD vendor data and interface with FHnet.

To find the new feature in the user interface, do the following.

1. At the bottom of the FIREHOUSE Software CAD Monitor dialog box, click Options.

   The FIREHOUSE Software CAD Monitor Options dialog box appears.

2. Click the Database or Data tab.

   During installation, if you selected a CAD vendor that uses an ODBCOpen Database Connectivity data source or text data files the tab is named Database. If you selected a CAD vendor that uses XML data files, the tab is named Data.

   Note: Depending on the CAD vendor, different sections and options appear on this tab. The screen shot below does not contain all the options that could appear.

3. From FIREHOUSE Software Database, select Update FHnet database.

   If you select this option, the User Name, Password, FDID, and URL options appear in FIREHOUSE Software Database.

   

   Information on specifying the information necessary for integrating FH CAD Monitor with FHnet is available in the FH database is available in the FIREHOUSE Software CAD Monitor Installation and Update Guide, in Specify system settings.

If you installed FH CAD Monitor on a machine with no previous FH or FH CAD Monitor installations, then opened FH CAD Monitor or the FH CAD Monitor Service Manager, the following error appeared.

Cannot locate the Microsoft Visual FoxPro library.

If you were importing a generic ASCII CAD data or XML file, and you added an undefined CAD field larger than 254 characters with the steps below, the following error message appeared.

Error 1713 (Field width or number of decimal places is invalid.)
Error occurred at line 111 of method XML_CREATECURSOR

1. At the bottom of the FIREHOUSE Software CAD Monitor dialog box, click Options.

   The FIREHOUSE Software CAD Monitor Options dialog box appears.

2. Click the Filters & Data tab, and then click Field Mapping.

   The Field Mapping dialog box appears.

3. In the upper right corner of the dialog box, click Manage Undefined CAD Fields.

   The Undefined CAD Fields dialog box appears.

4. From Show added field mappings for table, select IncidentUserFields.

5. Click Add.

   A cell in the Field Name column highlights to indicate that this is a new row.

6. In the highlighted cell, type the name of the data field in the CAD data.
7. For the same row, in the Field Size column, type a field size larger than 254.

8. Click OK.

   The error message appeared.

If FH CAD Monitor did not establish an initial connection, or if it lost its connection to the FH database during polling, some field mappings were removed from the configuration settings, and FH CAD Monitor could not restart.

FH CAD Monitor had been successfully importing CAD data into the FH database, but then stopped importing the data, and no error message appeared.

If you tried to import personnel data into FH CAD Monitor with the steps below, the data did not import as expected.

1. At the bottom of the FIREHOUSE Software CAD Monitor dialog box, click Options.

   The FIREHOUSE Software CAD Monitor Options dialog box appears.

2. Click the System1 tab.

3. In bottom right corner of the dialog box, under Query Personnel, select From FH Schedule.

4. Click Save.

   The data did not import into FH CAD Monitor as expected.

If FH CAD Monitor experienced a connection timeout, then the service stopped processing data and the following error message appeared.

Error connecting to CAD Data Source. ODBC Error 0 ([Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Login timeout expired)

If FH CAD Monitor received CAD data from Intergraph, and if the data included a unit that was sent to an incident multiple times, CAD Monitor did not accurately report the unit going out again.
