About Custom Data Export

Custom Data Export is only available to FH development personnel, but custom data export definitions that have been developed by FH development personnel are available as installable components for all clients. Contact your sales representative for more information on available custom export definitions.

The Custom Data Export option was added so customized exports of FH data can be created in a format like NFIRS and EMS transaction files. Now state and regional collection agencies can collect transaction files containing data not included in the NFIRS or EMS export.

Note: Custom Data Export is NOT the best method of exporting FH data in an external data format, it is a method of generating files that include information not available in the standard NFIRS and EMS transaction files.

Information on exporting information for use outside FH is available in Output Information.

1. Develop a custom data export definition (departments will not typically develop this, it will be provided by the collection agency).

2. Install the custom data export definition at the department that enters records.

   Information on installing a customer data export definition is available in Copy and Install Components.

3. Enter records.

4. Run the custom data export definition.

   Information on running a custom data export definition is available in Custom Data Export.
