Create a New Map

You can create maps that plot the physical location of your records.

1. Access the Maps menu, then select the area where you wish to add a new graph.
2. Select the appropriate category, then press New.

3. Do one of the following.

   Copy the existing map

   1. Select Yes at the Start With a Copy prompt.

      The maps for the category are displayed.

   2. Highlight the map, then press OK.
   3. Press View Map to preview the map.
   Create a new map

   1. Select No at the Start With a Copy prompt.

   2. An empty Map Designer form is displayed.

      You must complete the Properties section.

   3. Add a query that gathers the information you wish to include on the map.

      1. The query used to plot record locations must be a Map type query.
      2. Include tables that have location information.
      3. Press Details... to select values to use for labeling and to select a push-pin (if different than the area's default push-pin).
   4. Press View Map to preview the map.
4. Press Save, then Close to save the map.
