Work with the map
The first time you launch FH Inspector, the iPad determines your current location through a global positioning system (GPS), and a prompt appears asking whether you want to use this feature in FH Inspector.
If you touch OK, Locations Services are activated on the iPad, and an arrow appears in the upper right corner of the FH Inspector map screen, and a second arrow appears in the lower right corner of the screen.
Inspections from FIREHOUSE Software near you also appear on the FH Inspector map screen, and a legend for the inspection markers appears near the bottom of the map.
-
Touch the arrow in the lower right corner of the screen.
The map redraws with your current (approximate) location indicated with a blue circle on the map. If your location can not be determined precisely, a blue circle also appears around the marker. The size of the circle depends on how precisely your location can be determined—the smaller the circle, the greater the precision.
Note: Location Services can also be enabled or disabled using your iPad's general settings (outside of FH Inspector). Location Services is enabled by default, but you can disable it if you do not want to use this feature, or if you need to conserve battery life.
You can move the map from side-to-side and up and down without changing the level of detail currently seen in the map.
-
Place your finger on the map and drag it in any direction.
The map shifts in the direction of your finger.
If you want to see less detail in the map, such as several surrounding cities or towns, you may need to "zoom out" on the map.
To see more detail in the map, such as all the street names, you may need to "zoom in" on the map.
