4.8 Release Notes

The following issues were successfully resolved this release.

• Volatile keys and UAC issue with custom application.
• Multiple 'null' entries during logon in the APS log (User Sandbox mode).
• Request to support display size limits.
• The IME language bar is not displayed when Integrated Windows Authentication is enabled.
• Problem with server-side Xerox printer.
• Problem with changing passwords when Integrated Windows Authentication is enabled.
• The Chrome browser does not display web page contents.
• Scrolling is not dynamic when sliding the scroll bar.
• Server crashes randomly.
• Unable to reconnect to a disconnected session when using -u and -p on command line.
• The DragFullWindows option can be overridden by settings stored in the user's profile on the server.
• Clients cannot connect to the server.
• Security Configuration Wizard does not complete if FH Web is installed on the server.
• Custom application process spikes CPU and CPU usage never goes down.
• Custom application locks up after launch when the clipboard is enabled.
• After installing FH Web on a Windows 8 physical machine, the machine cannot be shut down normally.
• Support Request Wizard not working from the Cluster Manager (on Windows 8 and Windows 7).
• When upgrading the host to FH Web 4.7, remove the boot entry for FH Web.
• Provide user interface for running the Printers Applet.
• Request for a signature check with a custom application.
• A state where the interactive session is unusable unless the server is reset.
• Reconnect fails between a session from a PC and a reconnect from iOS or Android.
• FH Web issue with beeps_c37537 (Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012).
• Request to support Windows 8 Standard.

• DefaultConnectionSettings error in APS log on Windows Server 2012.
• Setting the server printer as the default printer does not always persist.
• Using the same user account on different client machines only checks out one license.

• When printing via the Universal Printer Driver, the output is scaled when the FH Web paper size setting does not match the native printer page setting.

The following known issues exist in the FH Web Server 4.8 release, and will be resolved in a future release.

• The Program Window's online content help is not displayed when the FH Web host is running on Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8.
• The ActiveX Control cannot be installed on a 64-bit FH Web host via the browser.
• Encrypted PDF documents cannot be printed via the Universal Printer Driver.
• FH Web does not support Windows Themes.
• Menus in the IME bar may be difficult to close. If you encounter this issue, move the mouse back and forth over the menu, and it will close.
• The FH Web Client cannot be run in Apple Safari on Windows.
• When explorer.exe is run in the background of the session, the session will take longer to start.
• F-Secure Antivirus is not supported on FH Web hosts.
• Avast Antivirus is not supported on FH Web hosts.
• Bitdefender Antivirus is not supported on FH Web hosts.
• On Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, users need to disable Gatekeeper in order to install the native Mac OS X Client.
• The automatic client update feature is not supported if the client modifies the client installer to install the client in a location other than the default location. Please install the client in the default client location.
• On 32-bit hosts and 64-bit Windows Vista hosts with Integrated Windows Authentication enabled, client printers are listed twice in Notepad and WordPad. On Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 hosts with Integrated Windows Authentication enabled, client printers are listed twice in Notepad.
• The 64-bit version of Mozilla Firefox is not supported on the Linux Client. Install the 32-bit version of Firefox before installing the Linux Client.
• Users must disable the firewall from Total Defense Anti-Virus before a client is able to connect to a FH Web host.
• Users must add the FH Web Application Publishing service (aps.exe) to the exclusion list for Vipre Antivirus before a client is able to connect to an FH Web host.
• When using multi-monitors and connecting to hosts running Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012, display issues might occur when moving windows across the monitors and off-screen.
• The client is unable to connect to a FH Web host running Windows 8 on port 491 when McAfee Anti-Virus is installed. To resolve this, open an FH Web port in the McAfee Firewall. For more information, see http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS100887.
• Remote access to the server’s Input Method Editor (IME) is not supported on Windows 8 or Windows 2012. FH Web uses the IME of the client device when these platforms are accessed from clients that have an IME enabled.
• Serial and parallel ports are not supported on FH Web hosts running Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012.
• When a license file contains a large number of comments (e.g., lines that start with the # character), the License Upgrade Wizard may be unable to determine the serial number of the license. To resolve this, delete some comment lines and attempt to run the License Upgrade Wizard again.
• The Integrated Windows Authentication feature is not supported on Windows 8 Standard edition (32-bit and 64-bit).
