Configure audit tracking and interface security

You can set passwords to control access to certain functions, such as starting or stopping FH CAD Monitor and accessing configuration options. You can also indicate whether audit records should be added to the FIREHOUSE Software database when incident reports are created or updated.

  1. (If you selected Run as a Service during installation) Stop the FH CAD Monitor service.

Information on stopping the FH CAD Monitor service is available in Stop a service.

  2. At the bottom of the FIREHOUSE Software CAD Monitor window, click Options.

The FIREHOUSE Software CAD Monitor Options dialog box appears, displaying the General tab.

  3. Click the Auditing & Security tab.

  4. Under FIREHOUSE Software Audit Tracking, select or clear Enable basic audit tracking in FH and Enable detailed audit tracking in FH of record changes to indicate how to handle the FIREHOUSE Software audit history table when a record is created or updated.

If you select Enable basic audit tracking in FH, FH CAD Monitor logs only created event records, and each time an update for that incident is sent to FH CAD Monitor , FH CAD Monitor updates the modified record.

If you select Enable detailed audit tracking in FH of record changes, each time an update for that incident is sent to FH CAD Monitor , FH CAD Monitor creates a new modified record for all records that were updated.

If you select either of these options, entries from FH CAD Monitor in the audit history are clearly marked as being added by FH CAD Monitor.

  5. Click Save.

The FIREHOUSE Software CAD Monitor Options dialog box closes.

  6. (If you stopped the FH CAD Monitor service earlier) Restart the FH CAD Monitor service.

Information on starting the FH CAD Monitor service is available in Start a service.
