Specify which fields to not overwrite

For the ESO EHR interface, you can specify which fields in FH to not-update if they already contain a value. This prevents overwriting data sent earlier from another CAD system, which has already been imported into FH.

  1. (If you selected Run as a Service during installation) Stop the FH CAD Monitor service.

Information on stopping the FH CAD Monitor service is available in Stop a service.

  2. At the bottom of the FIREHOUSE Software CAD Monitor window, click Options.

The FIREHOUSE Software CAD Monitor Options dialog box appears, displaying the General tab.

  3. Click the Filters & Data tab.

  4. Click the Filters & Data tab.

  5. Under Don't Overwrite Field, click Don't Overwrite.

The Don't Overwrite Field dialog box appears.

FIREHOUSE Software fields are color-coded. When a FIREHOUSE Software field value is red, a mapping must be specified. Blue indicates that a default mapping available, but is not being used. The Default Field Mapping column indicates what the default mapping is, and does not need to be changed.

  6. From Show Don't Overwrite Field Mappings for Table, select the FIREHOUSE Software table whose field mappings you want to examine.
  7. In the row for each field you want to prevent overwriting existing data in, in the Don't Overwrite column, select or clear the check box.

If you select the check box for a field, if that field already contains a value in FIREHOUSE Software when FH CAD Monitor is importing data from a CAD file, then FH CAD Monitor will not overwrite that value. If you clear the check box, data from a CAD file for that field will overwrite the existing value.

If the field in FIREHOUSE Software does not contain a value, then FH CAD Monitor will import the data from the CAD file, regardless of whether or not the check box is selected.

  8. Click OK.
  9. Click Save.

The FIREHOUSE Software CAD Monitor Options dialog box closes.

  10. (If you stopped the FH CAD Monitor service earlier) Restart the FH CAD Monitor service.

Information on starting the FH CAD Monitor service is available in Start a service.
