Renumber a record in FH

In FH, a number of record types have fields that lock once the initial record is created. These record types include incident, staff, occupancy, training programs, hydrants, inventory.

Example: In an incident record, the FDID, Alarm Date, Exposure, and Incident Number fields lock after the record is initially created. In a staff record, the Staff ID field lock after the staff record is created.

You can change the values in a number of locked fields by renumbering the record in FH.

  1. Open the record you want to renumber.
  2. Choose Form → Renumber <record name>.

The name of the option changes, depending on the type of record you opened in the previous step.

Example: If you opened an incident record, the option is named Renumber NFIRS Incident Report. If you opened a staff record, the option is named Renumber Staff.

A dialog box listing the fields you can edit with the renumbering feature appears.

Note: The name and contents of the dialog box varies, depending on the type of record you opened.

Example: If you opened an incident record, the dialog box is named Renumber - NFIRS Incident Reports, and contains the FDID, Incident Number, Exposure, and Alarm Date fields. If you opened a staff record, the dialog box is named Renumber - Staff Members, and contains the Enter the new Staff ID value field.

  3. Edit the value in the field you need to change.
  4. Click OK.
