Toolbar

The toolbar appears on the left side of the interface, and contains a variety of functions.

Icon Name Lets you

Grid On/Off

Hide or display the grid for added visual aid while drawing. By default, the grid matches the step (whole feet), and you can configure it to architectural and engineering styles, based on your preference.

Shade Area On/Off

Hide or show area shading based on your viewing/printing preferences. Shading is helpful for overlapping areas and quick verification of area types. The shade of each area carries over during integration or printing.

Center in View

Use the preferred method of centering while drawing the sketch. When pressing in this mode, the sketch centers within the drawing port, instead of in the selected page layout. This is useful when working on full page forms, as it keeps the sketch within view instead of adjusting to the form size.

Filter
Elements

Hide or show various classes of items within your sketches, without removing them from the sketch file itself. This lets you control the detail level in your sketches without affecting the original sketch file and its contents.

Alignment On/Off

Hide or show alignment indicators that appear while drawing. Alignment indicators display by default, to provide feedback that your properties “square” properly.

Refresh Screen

Refreshes the entire drawing port, clearing out any unwanted screen anomalies (artifacts) that may occur.

OrthoMetrics On/Off

Draw with the mouse. This feature “locks” each angled line drawn to a preset degree that you can configure. The default is 45°, but you can change the increments to 1°, 5° and 15° angles.

To change the degree of the angle, choose Tools → Configuration, and in the Configuration dialog box that appears, on the Drawing tab, under Misc., select Make Ortho relative, and then choose a degree option from the menu to the right of the field.

Swap POB

Draw your area in either direction. The cursor moves to the opposite end of the current area, allowing you to continue drawing in the other direction.

Draw Stairs

Draw a single flight of stairs. Once you draw the length of the stairs, FH Sketch completes drawing the stairs for you.

Configuration

Access to the Configuration dialog box to make changes to the FH Sketch user interface.

Page Layout

Change your sketch form to match your preferences/requirements.

Note: These options are limited through integration where the sketch is placed on the form of the calling application.
