Complete an area. When you press the A key, FH Sketch draws a line directly form the last anchored point to the point of beginning, and closes the area.

Trace all the common walls back to the point of beginning.

Note: You must begin on an existing end-point of an area and end on another end-point of that same to trace properly.

Make a copy of any existing area drawn. You are prompted to define the new area before you place it.

Extend the capabilities of the clone area by also allowing you to copy all the existing contents of the area to be cloned. This includes symbols, free form lines, fill patterns and text labels.

Note: Once an area is cloned, and before it is anchored, you can flip it by pressing the F key or mirror it by pressing the M key. This is convenient for drawing duplex-type structures.

Delete the selected area. If none are selected, you are prompted to choose from a list the area you wish to delete.

Move the sketch, area, or area with contents.

  • Move → Sketch: Move the entire sketch within the drawing port. Once you are satisfied with the new location, press the Enter key to anchor it.
  • Move → Area: Move the selected area to a new location. Any contents of the area stay in their current location.
  • Move → Area w/ Contents: Move the selected area and its contents to a new location. This includes symbols, free form lines, fill patterns, and text labels.

Rotate the sketch, area, or area with contents.

  • Rotate → Sketch: Rotate the entire sketch within the drawing port. Once you are satisfied with the new orientation, press the Enter key to anchor it.
  • Rotate → Area: Rotate the selected area to a new location. Any contents of the area stay in their current orientation/location.
  • Rotate → Area w/ Contents: Rotate the selected area and its contents to a new location. This includes symbols, free form lines, fill patterns, and text labels.

Swap the current location of the cursor with the opposite end of the active open area, giving you the ability to swap drawing directions on-the-fly.

Specify the active scale, to change the overall size of your sketch. Choosing a higher scale makes the sketch appear smaller. Conversely, choosing a lower scale makes the sketch appear larger.

Change the location of all dimensions within the sketch to inside, outside, or hidden, by repeating the command.

Automatically convert sketches to the metric equivalent. You are prompted to select a few conversion settings before the conversion takes place.

Access the Configuration dialog box, where you can change how the user interface operates. FH Sketch comes preset with the most popular default configuration in use by appraisers today.
