Rectangle/Line

Specifies position and printing options for rectangle and line controls.

  1. Draw a rectangle or line in a report or label, and then double-click it while it is selected.

    The Rectangle/Line dialog box is displayed.

  2. Press Print When.

    The Print When for is displayed, so that you can control exactly when the line or rectangle is printed in your report or label.

  3. Specify Object Position.

    1. Select Float to specify that the selected line or rectangle control move relative to the size of the surrounding fields.
    2. Select Fix Relative to Top of Band to have the line or rectangle positioned as defined in the Report or Label Designer and maintain that position relative to the top of the band.
    3. Select Fix Relative to Bottom of Band to have the line or rectangle positioned as defined in the Report or Label Designer and maintain that position relative to the bottom of the band.
  4. Specify Stretch Downwards options.

    1. Select No Stretch to have the rectangle not stretch vertically as the band stretches to display field data.
    2. Select Stretch Relative to Tallest Object In Group to have the rectangle stretch to accommodate the tallest object in the group.
    3. Select Stretch Relative to Height of Band to have the rectangle stretch to fit in the band.
  5. Add a Comment to the .frx or .lbx file.

    Note: Comments are for reference only and do not appear anywhere in the printed report or label.
