Data Grouping

Lets you create group bands for separating groups of records visually, and displaying introductory and summary data for each group. These properties include printing text in headers and footers to identify specific groups, printing each group on a new page, and resetting page numbers when groups are printed on a new page.

Group Expressions displays group break expressions, such as a field name, for the current report and allows you to type new ones.

  1. Press to display theExpression Builder form.

    Information on the Expression Builder form is available in Expression Builder.

  2. Use the following options in the dialog box to specify options for page breaks.

    Choose this To do this

    Start Group On New Column

    Start a new column every time the group changes.

    Start Each Group On a New Page

    Start a new page every time the group changes.

    Reset Page Number to 1 for Each Group

    Start a new page and restarts page numbering every time the group changes.

    Reprint Group Header On Each Page

    Specify that the group header follow the page header on all pages for the group when the group spans more than one page.

    Start Group On New Page When Less Than

    Set the minimum distance from the page bottom that a group header is printed.

    Insert

    Insert a blank text box in Group Expressions so you can define a new group expression.

    Delete

    Delete the selected group expression from Group Expressions.
