Lookup Driven User-Defined Fields

User-defined fields can be lookup driven. They can point to existing lookup code categories, or to a lookup code category created specifically for that user-defined field.

Note: You can add, edit, and delete user-defined field lookups from the Tools menu, Lookup Tables option, select the User-Defined Field Codes category, press Options, and and then select Code Sets.

As you are adding the 'text box' type user defined field, do the following.

  1. Check Lookup.
  2. Select a lookup category.

    1. Type a name for a new lookup category.

      This lookup category is added to the User-Defined Field Codes category.

    2. Press and select an existing lookup code category.
