Import Data from Station

You can import data from outlying stations to your central computer.

  1. From the File menu, select the Station Management option, Import from Station... option.
  2. Select the location of the export file to import.

    The file you import is created as part of the export data to station process, usually at a separate workstation.

    Information on the export process is available in Export Data to Station.

  3. Check Erase source files after import to remove the export file after records are imported.
  4. Specify how duplicate records should be treated.

    Select this To do this
    Skip duplicate Skip records when the records already exist (as identified by the record's unique ID). Select this option if the export file won't have the most up-to-date information.
    Overwrite duplicate records Replace duplicate records with the export file record when a duplicate exists. Select this option if the export file contains the most up-to-date information.
  5. Specify how attached files should be treated.

    Select this To do this
    Create new directories as needed Creates the directories contained in the attachment's location.
    Place all attachments in the following directory Place attached files in a directory you specify and changes the path in the attached file. When selected, you also specify the directory where all attachments should be placed.
  6. Check Batch update completion status of imported incident reports to update incident completion status.
  7. Press OK.
