Incremental Search Delay

When a browse list is displayed, typing any characters performs an incremental search of the displayed records (the first record that matches the entered string is highlighted). The incremental search delay is the amount of time in seconds that FH allows for adding additional criteria when performing incremental searches. When the time has elapsed, additional criteria is treated as a new entry. The amount of time in seconds FH waits is controlled by a registry value called Incremental Search Delay in the Workstation Key.

Warning: To modify the incremental search delay, you need to add a registry setting. Make sure you have an experienced computer engineer available when making changes to the registry.

  1. Add the string Incremental Search Delay to the FIREHOUSE Software\Workstation entry.
  2. Enter the number of seconds for the data value.

Example: For a delay of 4.5 seconds, the value should be 4.5.

When you access FH next, the new value will be used for incremental searches.
