Add Inspection Checklist Items

Inspection checklists are used in the Inspection Checklist Report and in FH Onsite Inspections. Included on the Inspection Checklist Report or your Pocket PC (if you have the optional FH Onsite Inspections), the inspection checklist is a list of items that can be inspected.

  1. From the Administration menu, select Administration Options... .

The Administration Options form is displayed.

  2. Access the Occupancy section, then press Update Inspection Checklist Items....

The Inspection Checklists form lists available inspection checklists.

  3. Press New to add a new inspection checklist or highlight an inspection checklist, then press Properties...

  4. Type a Checklist Name to describe this checklist.

If FH Onsite Inspections is enabled, add the inspection types this checklist is associated with. If you select an inspection type code that is used in another inspection checklist, the selected inspection type code is removed from the original checklist and added to the new inspection checklist since an inspection type can be added to only one inspection checklist.

One default inspection checklist is required for FH Onsite Inspections. You can add as many inspection checklists as necessary. By associating inspection checklists with specific inspection types, you can tailor the inspection items to included on the Pocket PC during inspection. On the Pocket PC, when you have an inspection type that is not associated with any checklist, the default will be used. Inspection items can't be added from the Pocket PC, so be sure to include all necessary items on the inspection checklist.

Information about onsite inspections is available in About Onsite Inspections.

  5. Check Make this the default checklist if this is your primary checklist.

  6. In the Checklist Item Categories area, press + to add a new category, or highlight a category and press - to remove.

  7. Items for the category highlighted in the Checklist Item Categories are displayed in the Checklist Items in <Category> area.

  8. Press + to add an item for a category, or highlight an item, or press - to remove it from the category.
  9. Press Import from Violation Code Lookup Table to create a list of categories and items based on your violation codes.

Caution: Not recommended if you use comprehensive violation code sets or for inspection checklists that will be used for FH Onsite Inspections.

  10. Press OK to save the inspection checklist.

The inspection checklist can be printed from the Reports menu, Occupancy Management Reports category, Inspection Master Reports area.
