Add NFIRS Incident Narrative

The narrative section is a place to describe what happened, fire department operations, or unusual conditions encountered.

• Do one of the following.

  Auto-generate incident narrative

  Note: Auto narrative must be enabled. Auto Generate is enabled via the Administrative Options form Incident section.

  1. Press Auto Generate.

     The Narrative Generation form is displayed.

  2. Select template if necessary.

  3. Press Generate.

     The auto-narrative is displayed.

  4. Edit if necessary, then press OK to insert into narrative.
  Add to Incident Narrative (No Auto Narrative)

  To make narratives locked by default, access the Administrative Options form Incident section All Incidents section, General section, and check Allow only appending to narrative. Incident narratives can be locked and only be appended to. If you are an administrator, you can press Unlock Narrative to unlock the narrative and type a narrative.

  1. Press Append.

     The Append to Narrative form is displayed.

  2. Type a narrative description of the incident.
  3. Press OK.
