Set up user profile folders

Navigate to the location of the user profile folders.
Depending on the operating system of your computer, the default location of user profile folders is different.
Operating system Default location Windows Server 2003 C:\Documents and Settings
Windows Server 2008 and later C:\Users
- Delete the user profiles folder of users who will be using Firehouse with Citrix or Terminal Services.

Ask users to log into their Citrix or Terminal Services session, and then to log out again.
This creates new profiles for the users.

Navigate into the Firehouse installation folder and copy the
REMOTE
folder there.Depending on the operating system of your computer, the default location of the FH installation folder is different.

- Navigate back to the location of the user profile folders.

For each user who will use Firehouse with Citrix or Terminal Services, do the following.
- Navigate into the user's new profile folder.
- Create a new folder and name it
FIREHOUSE Software
. - Navigate into the new
FIREHOUSE Software
folder and paste theREMOTE
folder you copied.
- Navigate back into the Firehouse installation folder and copy the
FH.INI
file there. -
For each user who will use Firehouse with Citrix or Terminal Services, do the following.
- Navigate into the user's profile folder, and then into the
Windows
folder inside the profile folder. - Paste the
FH.INI
file you copied. - Change the extension on the file to
.INF
, so that the file is namedFH.INF
. - In Notepad, open
FH.INF
. -
Search for the string
Default=C:\Firehouse Software\Remote
and replace each occurrence withDefault = C:\
user_profile_name\Firehouse Software\REMOTE
.Note: You will find the string five times, under
[System]
,[Database]
,[Queries]
,[Reports]
, and[Remote]
. - Search for the string
[Workstation]
. - Under
[Workstation]
, change the value forDefault=
from its current 10-digit number to the 10-digit unique number for each Citrix/ Terminal Server secession user. - Save and close the
FH.INF
file.
- Navigate into the user's profile folder, and then into the
- Continue with Verify your FH.INF changes in FH.
