Install FH
Windows Server 2008 or later must be placed to installation mode before installing FH, or users may encounter issues after the installation. After you installed FH, you must return the server to application mode.
- Log on to the Windows Server computer as an administrator.

Choose Start → Run.
The Run dialog box appears.

In Open, type
cmd
.A Windows system dialog box appears with a command prompt.

At the prompt, type
change user /install
.A message appears confirming that the server is now set to installation mode.
- Close the Windows system dialog box.

Install FH Standard or FH Enterprise according to their respective installation guides.
Warning: When you install FH, you must use the default selection of performing an INI installation, to avoid issues with user account control (UAC).
- Grant the
Users
group full-control rights for the Firehouse installation folder and all its sub-folders. -
Choose Start → Run.
The Run dialog box appears.

In Open, type
cmd
.A Windows system dialog box appears with a command prompt.

At the prompt, type
change user /execute
.A message appears confirming that the server is now set to user mode.
- Close the Windows system dialog box.
- Continue with Create and populate a Remote folder.
