1.1.0 Release Notes
These Release Notes are for FH Inspector 1.1.0, and provide a listing of the defects resolved and the enhancements implemented during this release.
The following issues were successfully resolved this release.
When the user was using the Inspection Questionnaire screen and rotated the iPad, the text entered by the user was lost.
When the user was using the Inspection Summary screen and rotated the iPad, the violations table did not resize correctly.
The following enhancements were implemented this release.
In the past, all the hydrants were displayed in FH Inspector, regardless of which shift was assigned to the hydrant. Now, when you sign in as a specific shift, only the hydrants for that shift are displayed.
Once an inspection is completed, the information in it should no longer be changed. The Edit Details button in the top of the Inspection Questionnaire screen has been removed, and FH Inspector no longer allows completed inspections to be edited.
In the past, a completed inspection on the Inspection Questionnaire screen had the same layout as the scheduled inspection questions. Now, completed inspections have a different layout which clearly displays the answers to the inspection questions and removes the answer buttons from the interface. This new design eliminates confusion as to whether or not the answers to the inspection questions can be changed.
In addition, a View Summary button now appears at the bottom of a completed inspection instead of the Done button, which is a more intuitive button label for accessing the completed inspection.
On the Inspection Questionnaire screen, an Only Show Violations slider has been added for completed inspections and re-inspections, so that you view only the checklist items that were found to be in violation during the inspection, or all the checklist items and their answers. When the slider is dragged to show On, checklist items in violation appear.
For completed inspections, on the Inspection Summary screen, at the bottom of the screen, the Submit Report To section and its Edit Details button have been removed; now only the View PDF and Done buttons appear. For scheduled inspections, only the Sign button appears.
The inspection checklist has been redesigned to group inspection questions by category, to organize the information and make the interface more friendly. A black heading bar with the name of the category appears over questions in the category, and a dark gray border groups the questions together under the heading bar. In the header bar, the new Yes To All and N/A To All buttons let you respond to all the questions in the category with the same answer, if appropriate for the questions.
In the past, you could only filter by date for scheduled inspections in the inspection table. Now, you can filter both scheduled and completed inspection lists by date. The appearance and behavior of the Date menu has improved, and is more consistent with other applications on the iPad. A new button has also been added to the top of the Date menu, to let you change the sort order for the dates. The name of this button changes between Sort Ascending and Sort Descending each time you touch it, and the dates sort accordingly.
On the Inspection Summary screen, when you are viewing the inspection’s signed PDF file, the send icon and its drop-down menu in the upper right corner over the PDF had been replaced by the Email and Print buttons. When you touch the Email button, a menu of emails sorted by categories appears; any options you select in this menu appear in the To line of the email the PDF file will be attached to. When you touch Print, the normal Print dialog box appears.
In the Business Details screen, the Allow Editing button has been added at the bottom of the screen. To reduce the chances of accidentally altering your data, you must now touch Allow Editing to enter edit mode, and then you can edit your data as before.
The Editing Enabled bar appears at the top of the screen, and contains the Save and Cancel buttons for the edit mode. The Building is Vacant and Occupancy Changed buttons replace the Allow Editing button at the bottom of the screen, and you can edit the information for the building, preplans, and contacts as before. When you are done editing, you must touch Save on the right side of the Editing Enabled bar to save your changes and leave edit mode.
